The Chevrolet Corvette is a fantastic sports car and an American classic, with some of the best examples of the car being ones we saw in the 1960s. Various special editions of the car have cropped up over the years, however on Bring a Trailer a highly unusual one is now on sale. This is a 1969 Chevrolet Corvette that is now converted into a Sportwagon, offering someone the chance to own a highly unique C3 Corvette and right now at quite a low price.

Details Behind The Sportwagon

This is an incredibly unusual and unique vehicle. The listing states that the conversion was fully completed during previous ownership, and it has delivery-style side panels and a fixed rear window. Think of it as an American Ferrari Breadvan.

The pop-up headlights on the car are now shaved, later model fender vents are now added, and the car had a repaint into red. Some additional features include body-color removable roof panels, side exhaust pipes, chrome bumpers and side-view mirrors. The headlights are now relocated to the front grilles. There aren’t many exterior defects, either, save for the odd imperfection and paint crack.

An Interesting And Comfortable Interior

Inside, the Corvette is quite a welcoming and pleasant interior. The cabin was fully reupholstered in black vinyl, sourced from Al Knoch interior, in May 2021. There are some nice mod cons inside this Corvette such as power windows, radio, air conditioning and dash lights. However, the latter three of those are sadly non-functional, so will need work to get going again.

A four-spoke steering wheel is on a replacement tilt steering column, and the gauges behind it are also sadly inoperable. The odometer shows a total of 25,000 miles, but the total mileage of the car is unknown.

Under the hood of the Corvette is plenty of V8 power. Specifically, it has a replacement 350 ci V8 crate engine with a single Edelbrock carburetor that is now mounted to a Torker II intake manifold with a HEI distributor. The engine went through a full service in December 2021 that the listing states included an oil change plus a replacement battery, starter, and flex plate.

The car comes with a clean Indiana title, and the transmission is a Turbo-Hydramatic three-speed automatic. Power-assisted steering and four-wheel disc brakes are two more standout features of the Corvette Sportwagon.
