Koenigsegg cars are built as one of the fastest in the world due to their stratospheric engines and incredible aerodynamics. Like the other rides in the lineup, the Koenigsegg One 1 is built to be lightweight and immensely fast. The rides feature the lightest weight crankshafts on Earth, typically weighing around 30 lbs.

Koenigsegg's One 1 is one of the most impressive hypercars that the world has ever seen. The Swedish manufacturers managed to make a car built on a 1:1 power to weight ratio, which makes it powerful and more conventional than other hypercars on the market. That being said, we want to share how the Koenigsegg One 1 compares to its rivals.

Let's take a closer look at Koenigsegg's One 1 and its comparison to other hypercars in the market.

A Greater Engine, Meaning Greater Speed

The One 1 Koenigsegg is different from any other super sports car in the range and on the market from other rival brands. Why? It features an engine like no other. The One 1 features a 5-liter V8 engine, which was designed in-house meaning that there are no other engines quite like it in the market. It is totally unique to Koenigsegg and it is powered by augmented twin-turbochargers, which compresses the intake of air to make the car go faster than ever.

The immense engine can boast 273 mph, which shocked the fans at the rivals. However, the speed doesn't quite compare to the likes of the McLaren P1 and the Porsche 918 Spyder, which both exceed top speeds of 340 mph. However, the engine does trump its rivals when it comes to horsepower. The Koenigsegg One 1 has an insane top 1,151 hp on regular pump gas and 1,341 hp when it has access to the E85 gasoline. In comparison, the McLaren P1 has a top 903 hp, which doesn't even come close to the One 1's.

The Koenigsegg One 1 Has Less Toxic Fuel

Speaking of the Koenigsegg One 1 having access to E85 gasoline, the ride boasts less toxic fuels than other models as well as rival cars. The E85 gasoline is a biofuel, which features a clever "rocket" catalytic convertor set-up that is used to align with the strict Euro VI emissions laws. Its rivals such as Ferrari's LaFerrari do not feature this type of gasoline, thus boast more toxic fuel levels.

However, McLaren and Porsche were savvy enough to produce plug-in hybrid supercars for the same year that the One 1 was released. Thus, the McLaren P1 and the Porsche 918 Spyder are considered more sustainable. Yet, they are not as powerful.

All while being more sustainable than the likes of Ferrari's LaFerrari, it is still more powerful. LaFerrari has offered a maximum horsepower of 950, which is 200 less than the One 1. You would typically expect a kinder-to-the-environment ride to be less powerful. However, Koenigsegg has pulled the two out of the bag with the One 1 and made it unbeatable when it comes to fuel efficiency and power.

The Koenigsegg One 1 Has A Functional And Fun Design

The Koenigsegg One 1 is as fun on the inside as it is on the outside. Not only does it boast an immense engine under the hood, but the exterior of the car is pretty swanky too. The One 1 features unique large doors, which open upwards and would need a lot of clearance for the driver and passenger to get out. However, it aligns with the showstopping presence of the car. Plus, let's face it, you wouldn't drive this around to park in the grocery store, would you?

The One 1's doors are not gullwing or scissor style. Instead, they open outwards then upwards using a specially designed dihedral synchro-helix system. The likes of the McLaren P1 and Ferrari's LaFerrari feature cool gullwing doors, but they are nothing like the Koenigsegg One 1's.

What's more, is that Koenigsegg's One 1 also has an incredible interior layout too. It is driver-focused, which makes it comfortable and convenient. Inside, you will only find lightweight and purposeful equipment to ensure that the ride is as lightweight as possible. Furthermore, fewer interior features lead to fewer driver distractions, which is key when you are going full speed. All the driver will see is the basic engine and road speed, vital engine data, and a handful of logos. There is nothing much to see, which makes it even more unique than other rivals.

In summary, Koenigsegg's One 1 model is pretty unique and impressive. In comparison to its close rivals, it may not be as fast, but it is more powerful and much more driver-focused, which is what you want when shopping for a hypercar.
