Lexus is a luxury vehicle subcategory of Toyota, the Japanese automaker giant. The Lexus brand is sold in more than 70 countries around the world, and is one of Japan’s top 10 global brands in terms of market value.

Founded in 1986, this brand has collected worldwide fame and recognition, producing luxury and high-performance vehicles that are not for the frugal shopper. Just listen to a Lexus LFA engine and you'll see why.

One of Lexus’ newest creations is the Lexus LQ. This 2022 model will shake up the automobile world, in a good way.

How The Lexus LQ Came To Be

Lexus debuted the LF-1 crossover concept in 2018 at the Detroit Auto Show. This spurred the general manager to push for a Lexus LQ crossover to take the top spots in the consumer’s mind in the 2022 model year. The best concepts from Lexus are enlightening. Take the Lexus Hikari concept for example.

Exterior Of The LQ

The design looks similar to that of an RX at first glance. The RX is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV that uses front and 4WD configurations. This version also utilizes various powertrain options, including V6 engines and hybrid systems. Although reminiscent of the Lexus RX, the design and exterior body has been upgraded to look like RX version 2.0.

The inner portion of Lexus will continue in using high quality interiors. It will look like the Lexus LS sedan, a full-size luxury sedan, utilizing all-wheel-drive platform, push button start, hard-disc drive navigation system, and heated steering wheel. The passenger seats have a lumbar adjustment and seat heaters, complete with leather upholstery, moonroof, and surround sound system.

Engine and Power Capabilities

The engine of the LQ could be a 3.5 liter twin-turbo V6 with 416 horsepower and 442 pounds of torque possible. The sport model could use the twin-turbo V8 design and get higher than 600 horsepower in the vehicle. There are rumors of whether the LQ would use a twin-turbo V8 or with a milder V6-powered trim for 424 horsepower. The rumors of the V8 came true, but maybe not with the twin-engine version as originally thought.

F Version with More Horsepower

Many believe that the F-version, which is in the high-performance division, could use the twin-turbo V8 engine for over 600 horsepower. This way, you can choose whether you want a more expensive and higher-powered car, or the flagship version with V6 twin-turbo at 416 horsepower. The F represents 'flagship', which is the testing site of the performance vehicle development.

The Price Of Luxury

The base version is rumored to cost around $80,000 and increase to about $100,000 for the flagship version. Lexus is unlikely to launch the F or sport model from the first day, so it would arrive later in the car’s lifetime. The F model is rumored to run about six figures to rival the competition, similar to the Audi RS Q8.

The LQ is scheduled to come out in the 2022 model year and will be offered in both the F version, with more high-performance attributes, or the original version, with a less-horsepower engine.

This new model in the luxury cars from Toyota, brings style, speed, and comfort into one high performance luxury vehicle, that is expected to shake up the automotive world in the 2022 year.
