When it comes to the most luxurious cars, the obvious players are the ones we can mostly just dream of. Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, and more are just some of many brands that grace the garages of the rich and the famous, and even the not-so-famous but filthy rich.

But more such luxurious cars are not as common, some because the automakers are unheard of, and others because the car may not be all that well known. It’s like the difference between the rich and the uber, I can buy half of the world kind of rich. The rich will wear branded clothes. The superrich will have perfectly fit and turned-out clothes, often without a logo.

It might just be the same with cars. The rich have their well-known luxury cars. The uber-rich might drive the most luxurious but lesser-known cars, just because. Of course, since we are neither rich nor uber-rich, this is all conjecture. In the same spirit, here go the most luxurious cars you’ve never even heard of.

10 Dartz Prombron Black Alligator MMX Black Tiger

Say what? The mouthful of a car, is an armored SUV, hiding a Mercedes-Benz GLS underneath all that, err, wild outside. This is an anti-paparazzi vehicle, if any, considering the invisible door handles are rigged to deliver an electric shock to anyone who tries to enter it, without permission.

The very dystopian black and orange scheme, along with carbon fiber accents reflect the jungle cat name, but the danger lies in its price and the fact that it can only be kept by the rich and famous.

9 Maserati Royale

We all know of the Maserati, but not many know of the Maserati Royale, considering only 53 of these were made from 1987 to 1990. The car was made as part of Maserati's 60th anniversary as a car manufacturer and was a custom-built ultra-luxurious trim of the Quattroporte.

The retuned engine made 300 horses, and there was a full mini-bar inside. A mobile phone, retractable rear-seat tray tables, ornate walnut paneling, and a genuine gold-plated analog clock were part of the deal. This was the last of the hand-built Maserati’s.

8 Zenvo ST1

If you’ve not heard of Zenvo, yet, it’s okay, although we have to tell you, Jay Leno knows of and has driven the ST1. The aspiration behind the Zenvo ST1 can be modeled after Bugatti, Pagani, and Koenigsegg. The ST1, is not a road rocket, although the 3.0-second 0-62 MPH run is pretty rocket-ish.

It looks and feels like a supercar, but is built for luxury by the Danish but not for the Danish, given the high automotive taxes in the country. The production run is a very select 15, so obviously, this is meant for those with pockets that go all the way to the core of the Earth.

7 Hispano-Suiza Carmen

Have not heard of this one too? Well, it’s an old brand, 1904 to be exact, that is now being revived after it had originally gone defunct. While the name sounds exotic, Hispanic-Suiza simply means Spanish-Swiss and is named after the eponymous belonging founders.

The end came at the onset of WWII, and the new car, Carmen, is based on the sole surviving Hispano-Suiza H6C Dubonnet Xenia housed at the Mullin Automotive Museum in California. It's being reinvented as an EV, and buyers will be able to choose just about any color they want. Small shakes considering it likely to cost $1.73 to almost $2 million a pop.

6 Spania GTA Spano

With only 99 units to be made, the Spano, from Spania GTA, a sister company of the GTA Motor Competition, is likely to be very, very fast. The speed is only likely to match the cost, considering the claim of a specially developed engine. The 7.9-liter V-10 twin-turbo intercooler makes 912 horsepower and 900 lb-ft.

Construction is rigid, and there is a self-darkening panoramic sunroof with seats comfortable for six-footers. The least they could do considering the ultra-luxurious price tag as well.

5 Antas By Faralli & Mazzanti

What is the Antas? We say it’s legacy considering it’s the brainchild of Walter Faralli and Luca Mazzanti. Walter is the son of Antonio “Mario” Faralli, as in Faralli Restauri, the shop that restores rare classic Italian automobiles and race cars. Luca is the son of Faralli’s master painter, Rossello Mazzanti.

Together, they made the Antas (meaning, eagle) and it’s an amalgamation of building a modern luxury car, the old way. Everything is hand-built to customer spec, and concept through commissioning takes a year. There cannot be a more unique luxury car, period.

This is Slovenia’s first (and only?) supercar, with a sweet interior and plenty of luxury. Aljosa Tušek used to race cars and when he stopped, he decided to build his own. After many trials and errors, we get the Renovatio T500 with a 4.2-liter Audi RS4 engine.

The 440-something horsepower sounds modest, but the car weighs only 1,090 kilos. It’s likely to be a track demon with a very comfortable interior which makes it a little unusual in sports car circles. But it’s Slovenia’s first, so it better be different to be memorable.

3 Savage Rivale Roadyacht GTS

Savage dubs its Rivale Roadyacht GTS as the only four-door “topless on-demand” supercar. Basically, it’s a four-door roadster, with a limited production run of 20 units. The car can go up to 205 MPH top speed and sprint 0-62 MPH in 3.4 seconds.

Available in only three colors for more than $500,000, this is a toy for the uber-rich with an exterior meant to appease the bad boy in you, while the interior would like to remind you of yachts with a blend of carbon fiber, aluminum, and Alcantara.

The Vertigo.5 is made by Belgian carmaker Gillet and is basically a racecar made for the street by Belgian racer Tony Gillet. The “.5” in the name signifies that it’s the fifth in the Vertigo series, dating back to 1994.

It has a 4.0-liter V-6 engine but the Vertigo.5 Spirit has a 4.2-liter Maserati V8 with dry-sump lubrication and 420 horsepower. With luxury interiors and some 20 years on the track, this is perhaps the hidden weapon of the uber-rich.

1 Lykan HyperSport

So okay, for all of you who did watch the F&F series, the Lykan Hypersport was the car they decided to throw out of the multi-story building. Of course, considering the $3.4 million price tag, what they truly destroyed was a replica, because this is a rather rare car.

Powered by a 3.7-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six mill made by Ruf, the Hypersport is very exclusive because only seven exist in the world. This kind of car can only go to the crème-de-la-crème of the crème-de-la-crème.
