Our Project Car Needs Your Help!

Our current “Project Car” is a little different from all the other magazine
project cars out there. This car, affectionately named “BOB” (Bucket Of
Bolts), started life as a father and son project that was built out of spare parts
in a street rodder’s back yard. It had a Datsun P/U truck frame, a Buick V6
motor, a Ford 9” rear end, and a steel ‘30 Ford coupe body. A fellow street
rodder saw the car for sale and used up all of his savings to buy BOB. He
drove the car for many years. BOB even made the long trip to Reno each
year for Hot August Nights. The new owner loved the car and put many miles on it.

One day, tragedy hit BOB’s new owner. His father passed away. He used
the money from his inheritance to take BOB to a rod shop for up-grades.
He thought, in some small way, that this would continue BOB’s history as a
father and son project. But BOB was taken in by an EVIL rod shop. BOB disappeared
for many years. The bad rod shop took BOB’s owner for a bad ride,
taking money from him and stealing parts off of the car. Then one day BOB’s
owner called me and said he was afraid that he was going to loose BOB. He
had no more money to finish BOB, and no place to store a half finished car.
I told him to bring the car to my garage. I’ll put my own hot rod project on
hold and together we’d figure out a way to save his car.

That’s when the HOT CARS magazine project was born! We will use
“BOB” as our project car and finish it right here in the pages of HOT CARS!

But we desperately need your help to finish this 'down on his luck' street rodder’s
dream project. In these days of hard financial times we don’t have the money
or resources to finish BOB. If you’re reading this, then we need your help!
Even though BOB is about half way finished, we still need some
more parts. We need Interior pieces, hinge kit for the trunk, help
hinging the trunk lid, upholstery, cutting, welding, fabricating, wiring, and
the list goes on. Please help a fellow rodder complete this father and son
project. If you can donate parts or services please contact us today. We desperately need your help.

Rod shops we especially need your help!

Your company name will appear in the magazine along with the how-to
article that features your product, it will also appear on the promotional material
for the car, (your ad will appear on our web site) and the car show sign that will travel with the car.

You will also be invited to the unveiling/thank you party this summer!
